Wood and glass coffee table, 1980s
Large architectural coffee table from the 1980s made of warm-toned wood and transparent glass. Two massive block-shaped ends, each consisting of a thick top beam resting on two square legs, frame a wide wooden base. At the centre is a sculptural hourglass-shaped support, topped with a moulded beam, which holds three glass panels at staggered heights: two upper trays inserted into the side beams and a lower central shelf passing underneath. The interplay of levels, transparency, and the rich grain of the wood gives the piece a strong graphic presence from all angles. A remarkable coffee table for a large living room or lounge, with ample surface area for books and objects. Condition. In vintage condition with signs of use, including small chips and scratches on the wood (see photos). Structurally solid and stable. Height: 36 cm. Depth: 75 cm. Length: 140 cm.
