Vintage earthenware bowl from Vallauris by Jean Austruy 50/60.

Sublime ear-shaped bowl (soup bowl) in ceramic, handcrafted and signed by Jean Austruy, a major figure of the Vallauris School. Made in the 1950s–1960s, this rare piece perfectly illustrates his unique artistic language, based on the work of textures and the power of glaze contrasts. The exterior features a subtly speckled off-white glaze, rhythmically adorned with a graphic design of geometric brown waves, offering beautiful visual depth and a true sculptural character. The interior, in contrast, reveals a glossy powder pink glaze, soft and luminous, bringing an unexpected touch of modernity and poetry. The piece is authenticated by the incised signature "Austruy" under the base, perfectly legible. Dimensions: height 7.5 cm, width (including ears) 12 cm. Ceramic / earthenware from Vallauris, circa 1950–1960. In very good condition, with a shiny and even glaze, no restoration, nor notable cracks or chips.
