Antique natural coral mounted on turned wooden base, 17 cm

Charming antique specimen of natural white coral, presenting a rounded bouquet structure with short ramifications, typical of the genus pocillopora or related. Mounted on an elegant turned light wood base with a brass stem, this object probably dates from the early 20th century, in the tradition of naturalist curiosities. The antique base is well preserved with a beautiful patina and some marks of use consistent with age. The coral, very complete, presents some natural concretions at its base. Total measured height: 17 cm. This is a small authentic piece, ideal for completing a collection or decorating an interior in a cabinet of curiosities spirit.
