Large and rare Gien faience candy dish – Peony pattern – Early 20th century Charming and large fine faience candy dish from the Gien factory, dating from the early 20th century. This hexagonal model, decorated with a slightly domed lid, is known as the Peony pattern, with a sumptuous floral decoration in rich and vibrant colors. The hand-painted motifs feature magnificent blooming peonies surrounded by stylized foliage in shades of red, green, blue and gold, characteristic of the Gien faience style. The candy dish rests on three curved feet in an intense blue, bringing an additional elegance to the piece. 🔹 Period: Early 20th century 🔹 Manufacturer: Gien 🔹 Gien mark on the reverse. The present mark was affixed from 1875. The proposed model is probably later and must date from the beginning of the 20th century.
