Set of six "Pégase" chairs, produced by Baumann in the 1960s and attributed to Pierre Guariche, a major figure in post-war French design. With its drop-shaped backrest, beech structure with delicately tapered lines, and generously curved seat, the Pégase model embodies the understated elegance and functionality of design from the Glorious Thirties. An immediately recognisable silhouette, it has become a classic of French furniture. This set stands out for its exceptional homogeneity. The six chairs feature a beautiful patina on the wood, seats and backs covered in their original black upholstery in very good condition, as well as a perfectly stable structure. They have been carefully preserved and are ready for everyday use. The slight signs of wear testify to their authenticity and are perfectly consistent with their age. It is now rare to find a complete set of six in such harmonious condition, making it an ideal piece for a dining room, an interior architecture project, or a collection of 20th-century design furniture.
