Brutalist metal BMF set – Ashtray, cigarette box and vase

Set of three decorative accessories by BMF with a characteristic brutalist design from the 1970s. The trio includes an ashtray, a cylindrical box, likely intended for cigarettes, and a vase. All three pieces share the same aesthetic vocabulary: a satin metal structure with clean lines combined with a heavily textured, almost organic outer shell, typical of German brutalist design from this period. The contrast between the smooth, machined parts and the dark, irregular, and highly sculptural surfaces gives the set a particularly strong presence. The wide, low ashtray features several notches along the edge. The cylindrical box has a removable lid, while the vase takes on a tall, narrow shape on a wide circular base. Together, they form a cohesive trio that is decorative and highly representative of European brutalist design from the 1970s.
