Elegant antique wrought iron mirror, signed Albert Serva, master ironworker of the Nancy School, active between 1920 and 1930. This rare model, made around 1925, perfectly illustrates the refined aesthetic of French Art Deco. The understated and graphic semi-circular frame, forged on the plant theme of ivy, bears witness to Serva's exceptional expertise, rewarded in 1926 with the title of Meilleur Ouvrier de France for a mirror surround. His work still adorns prestigious buildings such as the Invalides in Paris or the Solignac Abbey, and enjoys the recognition of the Académie des Beaux-Arts. Period: Circa 1925 Style: Art Deco – Nancy School Signature: Serva, engraved on the frame Provenance: France Condition: Very good overall condition. The wrought iron frame has been fully restored: stripped, treated and patinated in keeping with the original piece.
