Vintage coloured pencil furniture set – IKEA x Pierre Sala

These magnificent coloured wooden furniture pieces were designed by Pierre Sala for IKEA in the 1980s. The furniture blends childlike playfulness with the iconic style of Memphis Milano, although Sala did not consider himself part of the Memphis aesthetic. The pieces from the 'pencil' set are true collector's items, especially if, as here, a complete set has been preserved. In addition to this furniture, a coat rack and a night light were also launched in the pencil series. These postmodern furniture pieces retain their charm after all these years and can therefore be described as timeless! The furniture set shows some scratches and very minor marks, but is otherwise in excellent vintage condition! One of the chairs is a slightly different shade of green and has probably been repainted.
