Beautiful Wellington chest of drawers in satinwood with 7 drawers of increasing depth. The idea behind the 7 drawers is to have one drawer for every day of the week. In good and entirely original condition. Beautiful weathered patina. Satinwood is a collection of tropical hardwoods known for its silky sheen and light color. Very special. Ready for daily use, drawers run very smoothly. Practical cabinet. Lock does not work. The Wellington cabinet is named after the 1st Duke of Wellington. He had this type of cabinet made to take with him on his campaign trips for the English army. Origin: England. Period: Approx. 1820. Dimensions: W. 63cm, D. 40cm, H. 137cm.
