Italian Space Age floor lamp by Carlo Santi for Kartell, circa 1970.

Elegant floor lamp designed by Carlo Santi for Kartell in the early 1970s. This iconic piece of Italian design from the Space Age period combines a minimalist structure in chrome-plated steel with a large opal white methacrylate diffuser that provides a soft and warm light. The reflector is adjustable in height along the chrome posts, allowing for easy adaptation of the lighting according to use. The original black spiral cable highlights the very graphic and distinctly seventies character of the whole. A creation that is both understated and futuristic, representative of the research conducted by Kartell at the time around new plastic materials that would bring international fame to the Italian publisher. In very good overall condition. The methacrylate diffuser shows a very slight deformation at its upper part, likely due to time and use, without affecting the overall aesthetics or the functioning of the floor lamp. Height-adjustable diffuser allowing for easy adaptation of the lighting to different uses.
