This four-shelf wooden bookcase, typical of the bourgeois furniture style from the Napoleonic III period, is appealing both for its graphic silhouette and its intense English green hue, which gives it a remarkable presence in a contemporary or chic country interior. A piece of character, useful as well as decorative. Features: the bookcase consists of four staggered shelves with rounded corners and slightly moulded edges. The uprights are made of turned wood with a decoration of spools and successive bulges, a signature of the Napoleonic III style in its most elegant version. The whole rests on four matching turned feet. The construction is solid, and the structure is stable. Its compactness makes it an easy piece to integrate into an entrance, a living room, or an old kitchen, and its shelves provide an ideal display space for vintage objects or distinctive crockery. Renovation: this antique bookcase has been sanded and then painted in the dark green Puck shade from Little Greene. Dimensions: L75 X D24 X H104. Height between each shelf: 31. A brocante piece with a real point of view. The colour makes all the difference: the English green pulls this 19th-century classic towards something more contemporary, more daring. For those who do not want a conventional bookcase.
