Cassina design - Bellini, Italy, 1970s. Dimensions: 60 x 51 cm, Height: 80 cm, Seat Height: 44 cm. The "CAB" is the world's first freestanding designer chair in cowhide leather, inspired by the relationship between the skeleton and the hide; a true example of production excellence requiring multiple stages of handcrafted work to create a highly fashionable, bespoke object. The "CAB" chairs are of high quality, with a hand-stitched natural leather upholstery covering an internal steel frame. The only additional reinforcement is provided by a rubber membrane plate that supports the seat. Bellini's innovation lies in the use of zippers to attach the leather cover to its frame; a zipper runs inside each leg, sealing the cover. Wear consistent with age and use. See our photos.
