Midcentury Fibreglass Rocket Floor Lamp, 1960´s, Czechoslovakia

Often described as a lamp from denmark but this type of rocket lamp was produced in the former czechoslovakia in the late 1950s and 1960s: the space age. Manufacturer: novoplast, dolná streda, czech republic. In very good vintage condition, shows signs of age and use. Materials: tripod base made of 3 conical teak legs. Long tubular yellow-orange glass fibre lampshade. 6 small brass tubes. Some brass parts. Brass b22 sockets. These czechoslovak lamps were imported to the uk by sheerlite ltd in the 1970´s and they were sold by the postorder company argos in the 1970s. Argos was founded in 1973 and still exists. Electricity: 2 bulbs b22 (bayonet fitting), 2 X 60 watt maximum, 110/220 volt. Any type of light bulb can be used. Not a specific one preferred. Clear light bulbs have been used for this setup. Novoplast. Novoplast is a company from the czech republic. The company was founded in 1947 and is specialised in glass-fibre reinforced plastics.
