Exceptional hammered metal wall coat rack, period piece, at the crossroads of Art Nouveau, Art Deco, and colonial influences. This particularly original piece stands out for its significant wrought iron work and its hammered metal decor with irregular patterns subtly evoking zebra stripes and a panther's skin. The contrast between the dark parts and the patinated metal areas adds depth and character to the whole. The coat rack is centred around a large original octagonal mirror, bevelled and framed with decorative scrolls. On either side, several rows of ornate hooks are complemented by a substantial lower section forming a console/storage chest, richly decorated with geometric patterns. The composition, blending scrolls, geometric lines, diamond motifs, and hammered ironwork, is particularly harmonious. The date 1939, inscribed under the mirror, is a valuable dating element. Complete restoration respecting the piece. The coat rack has been fully restored: sanding, removal of the old varnish, cleaning, and reworking of the patina, finished with wax and a pad, final protection and rust treatment of the lower part and the back with a black finish. The whole thus retains its authenticity, patina, and the charm of its old material. Condition: exceptional. Large dimensions – complete set. Height: 210 cm. Width/length: 150 cm. Depth: 35 cm. Weight: approximately 75 kg. A truly unique piece whose quality of craftsmanship and richness of decor make it particularly rare furniture. Best regards, .
