This is a pair of 1970s small Greek theatre masks (tragedy & comedy) made of bronze, designed to be mounted on a wall. The masks have exaggerated facial expressions typical of Ancient Greek theatrical masks that were used in open theatre performances. The left mask with the wide, grinning smile and arched eyebrows represents Comedy while the right one with the more downturned expression represents tragedy. The surface of these masks have a dark verdigris patina with gold or brass highlights, emphasising the raised details. They would look great hanging in the hallway, on a mantelpiece or on a bookshelf at eye level or anywhere else in the house that you need to add some drama.
