Large articulated architect's lamp by May & Christe, Germany, 1st century.

Large desk or architect lamp from the 1980s, attributed to May & Christe GmbH. Very nice construction in off-white lacquered metal, mounted on a wide weighted circular base. The double articulated arm is counterbalanced by springs and allows for numerous positions. The light head is also adjustable. The particularly graphic joints are accented with white knobs with red dots, a characteristic detail that gives the lamp a lot of personality. Compact fluorescent lighting PL 11 W, with an incorporated May & Christe ballast. Original label present. Maximum height: approx. 104 cm. The lamp is functional. It retains its original finish with signs of use and a patina consistent with its age: some marks on the paint and traces of oxidation on the reflector. See photographs. A large work lamp with a very successful industrial design, equally interesting on a desk or as an accent light in a contemporary interior.
