Antique photogravure, Leschaux Glacier, Chamonix, 1930s-1950s, 40x30 cm

Antique black and white photogravure depicting a group of mountaineers on the Leschaux Glacier in the Mont Blanc massif. Produced between the 1930s and 1950s, this reproduction, typical of tourist or educational publications of the time, is mounted on a thick cardboard support, in a 40 X 30 cm format. The image offers a striking view of the glacial reliefs and surrounding peaks, with five mountaineers making their way across the snow. Although the scene is of high visual quality, it is not an original photographic print but a photomechanical print (photogravure) made from an older photograph. No author's name, stamp, or signature is present. Overall condition: very good for the image itself, some stains and moisture marks on the margins of the support, as well as a visible crease in one corner. The whole remains stable and ready to be framed. A beautiful vintage depiction of classic mountaineering, typical of mid-20th century mountain publications.
