For the new football stadium, Parken, in Copenhagen, Erik Magnussen designed these chairs in 1989, which were used for the conference rooms in the stadium. Afterwards, the Parken chairs were briefly produced and sold as easy stackable chairs, for example for schools and government buildings. These chairs were purchased for and used in the Utrecht library and feature a beautiful colour scheme of grey lacquered steel and black lacquered maple wood. The design uses a minimalist steel tube structure with a unique tri-point base construction. Magnussen's well-known motto, 'Making things complicated is simply foolish', is clearly visible in this sleek, functional design. As these chairs come from a library, they have been well used, but apart from the patina on the wood, they are still in very good condition. These beautiful sculptural chairs are rare and fit perfectly with the current interior trend. The chairs are 52 cm by 52 cm, 70 cm high and have a seat height of 44 cm.
