Rectangular coffee table with 2 solid wood tops in classic/Directoire style, featuring a lower shelf (storage shelf), tapered legs ending in bronze/brass caps, and 2 large through drawers. It is a beautifully crafted piece, made in France in the second half of the 20th century (quality reproduction style, type Grange or similar). The wood displays careful cabinetmaking with visible dowels at the corners and grooved details on the tops of the legs. It is made of solid cherry or fruitwood, a highly sought-after species for its warm hue and fine grain. The overall structure and underside of the piece show a sound and robust construction.
