Forming a large covered bowl with two handles, called monoxyl (carved from a single block), richly carved and decorated. Floral motif animated by a character walking in an undergrowth. Very beautiful ethnic piece, made of precious wood: rosewood. The particularity of this wood is to have a shade of color ranging from dark to light. Exceptional manual work, we can see on the bowl the traces of gouges and wood chisels. Traditional of african art, this object is a worthy representative of this ancestral. High quality decorative object will delight lovers of african art, or atypical decoration. The lid has an old restoration of use (see photograph). The rest is in sublime condition.
