Golden Bronze Faux Bamboo Floor Lamp. Circular Base. French Work.

The slender golden bronze column faithfully reproduces the knots and internodes of bamboo, intricately carved with consistency throughout its height. It rests on a circular base with concentric moulded steps in successive rings, providing a beautiful visual stability. The drum-shaped lampshade in black fabric lined with gold diffuses a warm and enveloping light. The gilded faux-bamboo is one of the signatures of the Baguès House, a Parisian reference for gilded bronze and brass, which has featured this chinoiserie motif in its lighting since the 1940s-1960s, appealing to prominent decorators and nurturing neoclassical taste. Condition report: Generally good condition. Gilded bronze with a warm and even patina, lampshade in good condition. An elegant floor lamp that will warm up the corner of a living room or the reading nook of a library.
