Belgian coffee table in engraved brass signed Christian Krekels 1970

Very nice coffee table signed by the belgian designer christian krekels made at the end of the 1970s. The top is very decorative, forming irregular scales, entirely made of engraved brass, and resting on a wooden base covered with polished brass. The rectangular top with finely engraved lines seems to float above the base. The technique used, typical of the work of belgian decorators of the 70s - 80s, is that of acid engraving, creating a unique pattern. It has been completely restored and repolished, and is in a superb state of conservation. A rare piece, and very decorative.
