Oil on canvas antique – Capri, Italy – Mediterranean landscape

Beautiful old oil on canvas depicting Marina Grande, on the island of Capri, Italy. Late 19th – early 20th century. Bright composition with turquoise waters, majestic cliffs, fishing boats, and figures on the shore. This scene bears a remarkable resemblance to a work by Bernardo Hay (1864–1931), without attribution to the artist. Unsigned painting, presented in its old gilded frame with a lovely patina. The canvas has a tear in the sky, with losses of material and cracks. Sold as is, see photographs. Dimensions: canvas 38 × 57 cm; frame 44.5 × 66 cm.
