We are delighted to present a beautifully designed, multifunctional Mid-Century Modern highboard and bar cabinet. This piece, part of the "Atos" furniture line, was produced in 1972 by the Rzeszow Furniture Factories in Poland. A true rarity for vintage collectors: the original paper manufacturing label from 1972 has been perfectly preserved on the back of the cabinet, guaranteeing its provenance. Design and Craftsmanship. The silhouette of this highboard is its greatest architectural asset. It features a sleek, tapered profile. The base depth is 35 cm, gently narrowing as it rises to just 27 cm at the top. This design choice prevents the tall piece (177 cm) from feeling heavy or overwhelming in a room, giving it a light, Scandinavian-inspired elegance. The materials used are equally impressive. The side panels are veneered in rich mahogany, while the front doors and the drop-down bar flap feature highly decorative walnut veneer, arranged in a striking pyramid (or cathedral) grain pattern. Restoration and Finish. This piece has undergone a highly demanding, professional restoration in our workshop. Originally, it was covered in a thick, high-gloss factory polyester lacquer typical of the 1970s. We meticulously and completely stripped this hard lacquer down to the bare wood by hand. The beautiful natural veneers were then finished with premium hard wax oil. This treatment completely transforms the piece, providing a natural, satin-matte touch that highlights the three-dimensional depth of the wood grain while protecting it against daily wear and moisture. The interior is flawlessly clean. Functionality. It serves as a highly practical 3-in-1 piece: The lower section provides spacious enclosed storage. The middle section features a drop-down cocktail bar and an additional storage niche. The upper section is a glass display cabinet with sliding doors, perfect for books or glassware.
