"Nuptial Carpet Kiz-bergama, Anatolia, Turkey, 108 cm x 163 cm, circa 1920" Bilaw bridal Kiz from the Bergamo region, Anatolia, Turkey, in wool circa 1900-1920. This beautiful bridal carpet is noticeable by its double niche and the use of white color and dark red. In the centre on a red background a medallion has large flowers in the vertical axis of these niches. These carpets, usually jealously preserved in families, can be recognized by the drawings of large apple blossoms in the two planks closing the field. These drawings are propitiatory fertility motifs as well as the small black and red flies "sinekli" found in the four camel-colored snails. The term "KIZ" means in Turkish, "young girl" and tells us that we are in the presence of a carpet for private use and village production. The main border is decorated with a suite of stars with eight branches lined with red "Medahils" and accompanied by stylized blue apple blossoms. These many symbols tell us, therefore, the belonging of this carpet to the carpets, little present on the market. The wool velvet of this carpet is shaved and shiny, its density of about 420,000 knots at the M2, the colors are frank, the field has unavoidable wear due to its age and can therefore be considered a carpet in very good condition. This carpet has been cleaned professionally and environmentally. Free shipping to France Dimensions: width: 108 cm (42 in) x length: 163 cm (64 in)
