A postmodern vase from Poland from the 1970s, made of glass with an intense cobalt-blue colour. The monochromatic form features a glossy, almost mirror-like surface and a soft, oval silhouette with a distinctly flared collar at the opening. Its geometric simplicity is paired with functionality – the wide opening allows for the display of both single and more elaborate floral arrangements. The vase's construction suggests a hand-formed glass technique, and the lack of visible seams further emphasises its harmonious, compact form. The vessel shows no visible signs of use, scratches or damage – it is preserved in very good collector's condition. The shape of this vase echoes the voice of late modernism – a confident simplicity permeating Polish design of the 1970s. The pure, vivid cobalt draws the eye, as if the glass wanted to capture the reflection of cool morning light or a fragment of blue sky enclosed in matter. Without ornament, it needs no story – its presence is strong, architectural. It recalls a time when Polish craftsmanship sought new forms of expression, and glass became a canvas for bold, monolithic colours. The vase is worth displaying in a space with a subdued palette, pairing it with light wood, concrete or pristine white walls to highlight the depth of blue and the smoothness of the surface. It can stand on a low console alongside geometric sculptures or black & white graphics, as well as in a collector's interior among other mid-century modern objects. It pairs well with steel or chrome details, and a single branch or fluffy peony will complement its subtle rawness.
