A very fine two-part dresser, dating from the mid-19th century. It is made of light mahogany, and its discreet gilt bronze mounts lend it an imperial air. The upper section opens with a glass door, thanks to its original, functional lock and key. The glass is original; minor imperfections can be seen when viewed against the light. Inside, there are three original adjustable shelves with matching exposed wooden sides. This section simply rests on the one below, and since the pieces are so well finished, it could even be converted into two separate pieces. The lower section features a drawer with a beveled front and its gilt bronze pull. Below, two solid doors with very elegant gilt keyhole escutcheons open to reveal a removable shelf and ample storage space. The original lock is a little worn but works with its antique key. To the left, there is another fine original locking mechanism. Pushing it upwards locks the door. It's very playful. There are some minor signs of wear, including two tiny cracks on the right side (lower section, see photos), which are inherent to this type of furniture and do not affect its sturdiness. The right plinth of the upper section was added later, as was the left side of the cornice. These are barely noticeable. Otherwise, it is in very good condition and ready to use. Its slightly "honey" patina, very warm and rich, is very modern and calming. More photos are available on my website, www.les-meubles-terra. H: 211 cm. W: 77.5 cm. D: 36.5 cm. Upper section: 91 X 26 X 70 cm. Lower section: 112 X 77.5 X 36.5 cm. Height: 19 cm. The price is firm, thank you. Delivery in the Île-de-France region and the DRC only for 40 euros.
