Pair of Midcentury Armchairs, Edmund Homa, 1960s

Edmund Homa was born in 1927 in northern Poland. After completing his studies in interior design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, he began working freelance in graphic design, interior decoration, and furniture. Since 1962, he has worked for the state furniture industry, as well as for the Academy. He has designed numerous seating furniture, many of which can still be found in Polish homes and public institutions. He was a scholar at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, where he worked under the direction of Ole Wanscher. Edmund Homa received his title of professor in the 1990s. His entire oeuvre has been awarded the highest national distinctions. He currently lives in Gdynia, Poland.
