Very beautiful, powerful and intriguing work, ink diptych on kyro paper by the chinese and french artist t'ang haywen, untitled and unsigned, dating from the mid-1970s. It is framed in a black wooden frame with anti-uv glass. The size of the diptych is 100 cm wide and 70 cm high, those of the frame are 119 cm wide and 89 cm high. T'ang haywen was a chinese and french artist born in 1927 in xiamen, china. He is known for his mastery of ancient chinese painting techniques with indian ink. Since his death in 1991, t'ang's work has been widely exhibited, notably as part of a traveling retrospective at the oceanographic museum of monaco, the hong kong museum of art, the singapore art museum, the east asian art museum in berlin, the ashmolean museum in oxford and taipei, and the taiwan museum of fine arts. In 2002, a personal exhibition of his works also took place at the musée guimet paris and the shiseido foundation tokyo.
