In the early 1970s, François Monnet designed a series of coffee tables for Kappa centred around a single obsession: reconciling mass and lightness. This model is one of the most successful expressions of that idea. Two polished chrome cylindrical arches support a smoked glass top, held in place by discreet metal bolts. The structure is symmetrical, and the assembly is precise. The interplay between the reflective metal and the transparency of the glass creates a visually suspended object, almost airy despite its solidity. In very good condition — beautiful even patina on the chrome, with no deformation or chipping. Light signs of use, consistent with its age. A collectible piece in this condition. H 30 × W 120 × D 60 cm. To be paired with a low sofa, a minimalist composition, or integrated into a 20th-century design collection.
