This resin reproduction is a faithful art cast of a large sepik ceremonial hook, also known as the "oceanian arrow, " emblematic of the cultures of papua new guinea. Produced by the louvre museum workshops from an original held in their ethnographic collections, this piece was designed with cultural dissemination in mind, with great formal rigor. Measuring approximately 61 cm high (excluding the base), it rests on a 10 cm square stone base. The surface is decorated with complex and symmetrical engraved patterns, evoking plant or totemic forms, and covered with a light brown patina imitating the appearance of old wood. The official stamp molded on the back attests to its institutional provenance. In very good overall condition, this museum reproduction is a beautiful decorative object, faithful to the aesthetic of oceanic tribal art while being designed in a contemporary material.
