Magnificent vintage lounge chair from the 1970s, showing very strong similarities to the models by Jacques Charpentier published by Roche Bobois at that time. Its low, enveloping silhouette, generous volumes, and especially its brushed metal/aluminium base correspond to the characteristics of several lounge chairs by Jacques Charpentier from the 70s. An attribution to Jacques Charpentier is therefore highly plausible, provided that a possible label, stamp, or other element can be found to definitively confirm the edition. The chair is fully upholstered in sumptuous deep brown velvet, with a beautiful patina of use. Its sculptural shape and deep seat make it a true statement piece of 70s furniture. Very comfortable thanks to its enveloping backrest and generous proportions. The structure is sound and stable. Note: the seat would benefit from being reinforced by adding high-density foam under the fabric to regain a firmer support. As it stands, this does not prevent its use at all, but the seat is softer than originally. This intervention remains relatively simple for an upholsterer and would restore optimal support. A very beautiful piece of French design from the 70s, potentially by Jacques Charpentier for Roche Bobois, which has become difficult to find in this condition and with its original upholstery.
