"Magic Box" desk mid-century by Mummenthaler & Meier, Switzerland, 1955

Retractable desk or "magic box". Dimensions: closed box: 83x56cm H:113.5. Open: 167x76cm H:113.5. Weight: ~75kg. Wear consistent with age and use. Designed by Swiss architects Ernst Mummenthaler and Otto Meier, it was marketed around 1950. The furniture closes completely like a discreet cabinet (key missing). Once opened, it offers a complete workspace, including numerous storage options, shelves, drawers, and an integrated lamp. It is considered an icon of mid-20th century Swiss design.
