Gio Ponti & Carlo Alberto Rossi Bucchero Vase N.3 1940s Very Rare D

Bucchero vase, Gio Ponti and Carlo Alberto Rossi, 1940s. Extremely rare black bucchero ceramic vase, designed by Gio Ponti in collaboration with Carlo Alberto Rossi in the 1940s. The piece is distinguished by its sculptural and dynamic line, featuring a pronounced arched handle and a polished body with sinuous surfaces, typical of Ponti's formal exploration during this period. The bucchero, a material that evokes Etruscan tradition, is reinterpreted in a modern way with a smooth and compact finish, highlighting pure geometries and the interplay of solids and voids. The object represents a perfect synthesis of craftsmanship and industrial design, combining the functionality of a vase with the aesthetic refinement of a domestic sculpture. This piece is considered a rarity in the landscape of post-war Italian ceramics, reflecting the experimentation and artistic sensitivity of Ponti and Rossi in the field of decorative arts.
