Elegant English Davenport from the Victorian era, acquired in 1968 from Wanda Verrière, an antique dealer at Village Suisse in Paris. The original invoice, preserved, explicitly describes the piece as a "Victorian English Davenport." The furniture features a particularly decorative composition combining dark wood and light burl veneers with geometric patterns. The upper section, closed by two doors, contains a fully compartmentalised interior with shelves, cubbies, and two drawers. The lower body is also fitted with several side drawers concealed behind a door. The console legs with openwork and the oval burl panels give the whole piece a very characteristic silhouette of 19th-century English furniture. Dimensions: L. 55 cm. H. 102 cm. D. To be completed. Condition: Antique furniture preserved in its patina. Some small accidents and missing veneer are present, mainly on certain edges and on the side of the upper case. They are visible in the photographs and contribute to the antique state of the piece. Provenance: Wanda Verrière, antique dealer, Village Suisse, Paris. Acquisition in 1968. Original invoice preserved.
