Restored leather Chesterfield set with hand-carved lion.

We are delighted to offer for sale this absolutely stunning, exceptionally rare, fully restored Victorian Jacobean Revival suite from around 1880, featuring buttoned Chesterfield design in whisky brown leather with hand-carved details depicting lions. This suite was purchased from an experienced Belgian antique dealer. It is an extremely rare find, particularly for original Jacobean Revival seating sets with carved lion details. The complete restoration includes the removal of the old fabric, traditional French washing and finishing of the frames, checking and restoring the seat interiors, and new upholstery carried out by a Victorian-trained upholsterer of the fourth generation using premium full aniline Italian leather, hand-dyed six times, aged, sealed, waxed, and polished. Sofa dimensions: Height 91.5 cm, Width 127.5 cm, Depth 78 cm, Seat height 50.5 cm. Armchair dimensions: Height 91 cm, Width 75 cm, Depth 78.5 cm, Seat height 49 cm. Please note that all measurements are taken at the widest point. Condition: good condition with wear consistent with age and use. The original leather shows a natural patina with cracks, creases, and wear.
