Elegant floor reading lamp of Italian manufacture, made primarily of brass and chrome metal, attributable to the production of Tagliabue & Portonaro, a factory established in Settimo Milanese, near Milan. Its particularly graphic design combines a long vertical structure with a double articulated arm, allowing for easy adjustment of the lighting orientation and position. The height is also adjustable thanks to its telescopic stem, offering use both as a reading lamp next to an armchair and as supplementary lighting. The geometric lampshade in gilded metal features a hammered inner reflector, designed to effectively diffuse the light from the halogen bulb. The lamp rests on a substantial circular base ensuring good stability. It retains its original foot switch, with a dimmer allowing for adjustment of the light intensity. The lamp is fully functional. Overall vintage condition is good, with natural patina on the brass, slight signs of oxidation, and small marks of use consistent with its age. Articulation mechanisms and height adjustment are functional. Lighting tested and functional. This reading lamp is a fine example of Italian design from the 1980s, blending architectural lines, brass, and great modularity.
