Impressive Space Age cascade pendant lamp by Wortmann & Filz, made in Germany in the 1970s. The lamp consists of eight separate chrome spheres suspended at different heights, together forming a sculptural cascade. Each chrome sphere is fitted with an E14 socket, with the large round light source partially visible at the bottom. This creates a characteristic warm light point that contrasts beautifully with the reflective chrome. The repetition of the eight identical elements and the staggered suspension give the lamp a distinctly spatial character. The mirrored surfaces reflect both the interior and the other light points, so the composition changes from every angle. A striking example of German Space Age design from the 1970s, in which simple geometric shapes, chrome, and light are combined into a single sculptural object. The lamp is in neat vintage condition. The chrome presents well and shows light signs of use and patina appropriate to age and use. Dimensions are as follows: height 170 cm, diameter 46 cm. Carefully selected vintage design. Where necessary, professionally restored, with respect for the original design, craftsmanship, and materials used.
