Gilded mirror of the Louis-Philippe period ( 1830-1848 )
- H141 x W88 x D6
- wood
- golden
Description
This pretty rectangular mirror reminds us of the talent of the craftsmen of this period. (today's gilders prefer to buy mirrors to restore than to remanufacture them; their cost would then be close to 4000 euros) moulding with a curved profile decorated with spandrels with romantic decoration of flowery rinceaux, whose gilding alternates browns and mattes (gilding rubbed with agate stone to obtain a shiny appearance and left in the state to obtain the mats.) small defects will be repaired before removal. An ice cream with undeniable charm with its mercury ice cream that is waiting for a future owner.
