This large pedestal in cherry and walnut, slender and refined, displays a sculptural presence while remaining remarkably delicate. Its vertical silhouette rises confidently, supported by finely crafted legs, while the fruitwood surfaces reveal a warm and nuanced grain, where the cherry interacts with the depth of the walnut. Each side is animated by painted botanical scenes, created in an Asian spirit: supple branches, stylised foliage, delicate birds, or flowers seem to unfold like a small contemplative garden. The spacer shelves create a play of volumes that lightens the structure while offering presentation spaces. The base, denser, anchors the whole in a traditional aesthetic where nature, material, and artisanal gesture respond to one another. The object evokes both a display piece and a work of art: a pedestal that combines the nobility of European woods with an Eastern sensibility, and which seems designed to hold a precious vase, a sculpture, or simply to become the focal point of an interior.
