Frame: 58 X 68 cm. Bernard Delettre, born in 1937, is a French painter associated with the figurative tradition, deeply rooted in Normandy, particularly in Honfleur and Saint-Hymer. Based in Honfleur, Delettre has specialised in plein air painting, capturing landscapes of the Norman countryside, nostalgic seascapes, as well as still lifes and portraits. His style, often described as "sensitive realism" or "direct impressionism, " is characterised by an uncompromising approach and a particular attention to the details of everyday life. In the 1980s, Delettre supported young artists, including Jean-Claude Quinette during his first exhibition in Pont-l'Évêque in 1981. His works have been regularly exhibited and have gone to auction, reflecting his recognition in the art market. Today, Bernard Delettre resides in Saint-Hymer, in Calvados, where he continues to paint, remaining true to his authentic artistic approach rooted in the Norman tradition.
