Antique George III canapé circa 1780, hand-carved with claw and ball feet.

We are delighted to offer for sale a very rare and sought-after Georgian sofa dating from around 1780, featuring finely hand-carved claw and ball feet, fitted with period wooden castors. This sofa is sublime and highly decorative, with the feet being a work of art. The upholstery fabric dates from around 1900 and may require professional cleaning or replacement. Typically, these sofas are upholstered in leather, hand-tufted and dyed. The wood has been cleaned, waxed, and polished, with some minor losses. The fabric shows some marks and discolouration. Dimensions: Height: 100 cm, Width: 142 cm, Depth: 77 cm, Seat Height: 50 cm. Please note that all dimensions are taken at the widest point.
