Made in the 1950s, this set perfectly illustrates the organic and sculptural vocabulary developed by Chambost, a major figure in post-war French ceramics. The fluid lines of the jug, highlighted by an elegant arched handle and a body slightly constricted at the base, harmoniously complement the shapes of the cups. The satin off-white glaze contrasts with a bright vermilion interior, a particularly sought-after chromatic signature in the ceramist's work. This opposition between external sobriety and the intensity of the interior colour gives the set an exceptional graphic and modern presence.
