Antique gilded wooden mirror with rococo patterns, Italy, 18th century.

Wall mirror in sculpted and gilded lime wood, featuring a rectangular frame that holds the central mirror, surrounded by a border of small mirrors. The sculpted mouldings are decorated with gilded flowers, while the lower part displays scrolls and leafy scrollwork. The sides are enhanced with scrolls and floral bouquets, with rockwork feet. The pediment, complex and detailed, is composed of shells, scrolls, and rockwork consoles. This mirror, made in Turin in the 18th century, represents a refined blend of Baroque and Rococo styles. Similar examples are preserved in residences in Savoy, such as the hunting lodge of Stupinigi.
