Spectacular four-piece Art Nouveau tea and coffee service by Christofle, Gallia line, in silver and gold-plated metal. First Gallia hallmark, used from 1900 to 1908. This rare service embodies the essence of Art Nouveau design: a slender, highly ornate form with a curved and tapered body. The naturalistic and botanical inspiration is evident: clover stems and leaves adorn the pieces, from the slender, tapered feet to the tops. Each piece is exquisitely crafted and decorated, as seen in the lid knobs, which feature a raised leaf motif with its indentations. Condition: The silver plating is in excellent condition, with a beautiful shine. The interiors of the teapots are clean, and the interiors of the vermeil milk jugs and sugar bowl are in excellent condition. Some of the raised areas show signs of wear from cleaning, consistent with the age of the pieces (over a century old), particularly on the lids. The coffee pot lid has a repaired hinge, which has come loose but is invisible when closed (see photo, part of the description). Dimensions: 1 coffee pot (lid detached, barely visible), height 25cm. 1 tea pot, height 17.5cm. 1 sugar bowl (gold-plated interior), height 15cm. 1 milk jug (gold-plated interior), height 9cm. Careful shipping or local pickup in Paris, Saint-Germain-des-Prés district.
