Antique Breton display cabinet in chestnut, France, circa 1880–1890

Beautiful antique display cabinet from Brittany, dating from the late 19th century. Made of solid chestnut wood, it is richly decorated with handcrafted sculptures typical of Breton furniture. The glass door opens to several display shelves. The lower panel depicts a traditional rural scene. The sides are adorned with carved geometric and floral motifs. The pediment is centred by a medallion representing a Breton figure. A piece full of character, ideal for displaying books, ceramics, or collectibles. Condition. Good antique condition with signs of use consistent with age. A slight discolouration is visible on the left side panel. The structure is sound and stable. Dimensions. Height: 180 cm. Width: 72.5 cm.
