Rare black ceramic plate biot vintage stamp 1960 star 30 cm

Very rare collector's item. Large round art ceramic plate from the Mid-Century period (circa 1960), bearing the stamped mark "BIOT Made in France" underneath. Made of ceramic, this plate has a diameter of 30 cm and features a very dark brown, almost black base, onto which geometric patterns have been applied. The decorations in yellow and orange tones, with a central blue accent, are raised, creating a visual texture and depth. The unglazed reverse reveals the terracotta and bears the potter's stamp, confirming its origin from Biot, a village renowned for its ceramic tradition. The piece is in excellent condition, with a patina that reflects its history while preserving the integrity of its design. The glazing is intact and retains its original lustre, and the hand-painted colours remain vibrant. There are only very slight, barely visible surface micro-scratches from use. Ideal as a centrepiece on a table, console, or sideboard, this plate can also be displayed as a wall art piece.
