This lithograph was made by arnold leissler in 1981. It is hand signed, dated and numbered. It is edition 9/50. It belongs to the series "vineyards of tuscany", this one is called "vigneto toscano". On the back of the frame there are three pages pasted with a text written (on an old typewriter) by leissler himself explaining his relationship with the tuscan vineyards and describing his career. In the 1960s, the gallerist and publisher dieter brusberg counted arnold leissler as one of the. "young german printmakers", which included bernhard jäger, reiner schwarz and jan voss, among others. Leissler had his first solo exhibition of his recent works in brusberg’s gallery in 1964, after he had reached. In brusberg’s words - a vegetative state. Leissler’s love for the mediterranean, and italy in particular, can often be seen in his pictures and prints. (leissler held a gropius stipend in florence and received the rome award of the villa massimo in 1968). Hence his female figures often revel in mediterranean surroundings. The lithograph is in very good condition, but the paper has foxing, you can see details in the photos. It is framed in its original frame. It measures 57 cm wide, 46 cm high and 2 cm deep.
