Ceramic lamp by Vallauris, Marius Musarra (1910-1991)

Vallauris ceramic lamp, Marius Musarra (1910-1991) Turquoise blue tones / original lampshade in good condition and some very minimal traces of age and use. Height 96 cm Shade diameter 42.5 cm Delivery on request. Marius Musarra is a ceramist of Sicilian origin, based in Vallauris. He notably created utilitarian and decorative ceramics, including a series of pieces in black and white speckled fat lava with a bright red interior, a style that is coming back into fashion among enthusiasts of the 1950s. In 1950, Marius and Marie Musarra created their own workshop together, named Mabyjo's, in reference to the first names of their three children. The glazes from L'Hospied adorn the ceramics. The name Mabyjo's is formed by the contraction of the diminutives of the first names of their three children: Marinette known as "Manou", Gabriel known as "Gaby", and "Josette". Marius Musarra has received several awards at the Vallauris Biennale and in Faenza. His studio also trained young ceramists, such as Max Siffredi, who worked in the studio from 1961 to 1973.
