Superb antique desk (or writing table) with a solid cherry wood base, dating from the late 19th century. It stands out for its clean lines, elegant tapered legs, and slightly curved apron at the front. It features two functional drawers at the front, equipped with their original turned wooden knobs and a refined keyhole. Restoration & Condition: The piece has undergone targeted restoration work to preserve its character: Treatment: The entire piece has been thoroughly treated against woodworm (complete xylophagous treatment). The old signs of woodworm on the legs attest to its authenticity, with no active risk. Top: Sanded down, the slight original woodworm holes have been carefully filled with wood filler (slightly visible through transparency, reflecting its history), and the whole has been protected with a special wood oil (matte colourless finish, nourishing and stain-resistant).
